George R.R. Martin's best-selling book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" is brought to the screen as HBO sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into the medieval fantasy epic. It's the depiction of two powerful families -- kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men -- playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Martin is credited as a co-executive producer and one of the writers for the series, whose shooting locations include Northern Ireland, Malta, Croatia and Spain.

[This season] made choices that I just didn't understand...you have to wrap it up somehow, and this season is just full of more extremes and it just doesn't work anymore or fit in with the rest...

After George RR Martin's books ended, the show's mojo seemed to follow. It may have still constituted event TV, but in retrospect that was based on the strength of the fan community and massive marketing more than the material itself.

SHOCKING things happened just because they had shock value. They bore no connection to anything else that had happened before them. There was hardly any organic, believable storytelling leading up to those moments. Thus, they felt shallow.

Game of thrones is the greatest of all time series that ever made by Human, but the last 8th season was disappointed not because the audience wasn't expecting that it's because it ruined it's own legacy.

People hate the way it ended & I’ll admit I was originally unhappy as well. Re watching it at least 2 more times I still absolutely love the season. While I truly wish they had given it 1 more season to wrap everything more neatly, it’s still amazing and truly an emotional watch. Masterful series altogether.

Totally disappointing! It betrayed all the other seasons. The laziness of the writing, producers, and everyone involved was absolutely horrific. It just went downhill so badly.

This show disrespects its loyal fans who deserved a better ending. I never liked it from the beginning and only watched to see the hype. Early seasons were boring and dragged out, while the final seasons were rushed and nonsensical. Full of disappointing endings and plot holes. Not even a 10-year-old would be satisfied.
