See more 11/29/2014 For some reason, the jungle genre of movies was a big thing during the 1930s through the 1950s, and even the 1960s. Jungle Goddess is one of the movies, and you can't really give it much credit for anything. It's a movie that meanders for a lot of its running time and never really knows what its about. The main draw to the movie is that it features George Reeves, which for those who don't know, played Superman in The Adventures of Superman TV series. The other draw is that it was featured on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, which is where I first saw it. I'm trying my best to rack my brain and remember what all it was about. I think it was about a woman who crash-landed on an island and was treated like a goddess until two strange men showed up to take her away. I think that's what it was. It's a mostly forgettable movie, through and through, which is the worst kind of movie really. See more 10/16/2011 Not-so-subtle racism abounds in this late 40s movie about a woman who survives in the jungle for a while only to be saved by two men--one of whom seems to solve all of his problems by shooting them, which ends up getting the trio in big trouble with the natives.
