Being a fan of Hitchcock doesn’t guarantee that you can make a good movie about him. This movie lacks the details that reveal what a genius he was. It lacks the intrigue that revolves around his life. And most importantly it lacks the interviews and archive footage that this film needs. It looks as though it was made with stock video. Underwhelming and disappointing.

An incisive and intricately researched dive into one of the most influential filmmakers of this or any other given time that just oozes and explodes with enthusiasm and devoted passion for the subject the director is undertaking. The film also both subtly and boisterously explains what exactly makes him such an endearing icon as well as diving into the psyche that makes Alfred Hitchcock so interesting to study and further dissect.
