Huntin P @PaxVobiscum80 Sep 18, 2026 Found this on telly one afternoon and fell in love with it. What a goldmine cinema was, before the era of the blockbuster. This funny little movie is full of sparkling dialogue and pratfalls, and could appeal to people of all ages. Dana Andrews plays a paediatrician, Perry, who, after completing a house call, wanders into an artist's atelier and rubbishes his paintings. The artist, Ottavio, accepts an invitation to come to the paediatric surgery in search of a real subject. However, he is determined to get his revenge on this pompous doctor. When he sees how Perry has everyone eating out of his hand, Ottavio's desire to take him down a peg or two maximizes. He finds an eager accomplice in the doctor's wife, April. "Go ahead, Mr Quaglini, shake us up a little. Maybe we need it. But you do too!" The movie makes effective use of interior monologue, parody, clowning, and as I say, very snappy dialogue. Such things were easier to come by, back then. Not a famous flick, just a fun one. See more Read all reviews
