Graeme Blundell The Australian Jun 6
The search for the elusive bin Laden is a fascinating, often riveting story with a wonderful cast of characters, told with the propulsion of a military thriller, although at times the operation it documents seems too cack-handed and comical to be true. Go to Full Review

“American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden” is a useful, riveting documentary docuseries that brings back some important recent history — history that already feels like long ago. Go to Full Review
Rohan Naahar The Indian Express May 22
Every single high-ranking official who appears in American Manhunt knows that they are in a Netflix documentary. They’re prone to speaking in blurbs; in declarations and pronouncements, almost as if they want to make sure that they make the cut. Go to Full Review
Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media May 21
The three-part docuseries combines details with a little drama to recreate the sense of loss and urgency associated with 9/11 and the nearly 10-year pursuit of Osama bin Laden. Go to Full Review
Joel Keller Decider May 15
American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden is informative, to be sure, and it gives insight into operations most people in the US knew nothing about. Go to Full Review
Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut May 14
4/5
If Zero Dark Thirty has long held the crown for the most riveting depiction of this raid, American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden might nick it with a near feature-length final episode that is absolutely stellar documentary filmmaking. Go to Full Review

Caroline P. @dcsandwichguy Feb 10 Oh, wow, can’t believe I hadn’t seen nor heard of this Bin Laden film until today. The best documentary I have ever seen. Outstanding film with precision editing, breadth and scope of interviews, and inside information and experiences felt by intelligence officers/analysts and how they interfaced with the White House. All the makings of an excellent thriller movie with legitimate superstar military, intelligence analysts, and US security leadership starring. I have a new appreciation for what analysts sacrifice in service to our country. Don’t miss this. See more Rob S @RT16866688 Sep 3 The fact that several people said “they attacked us bc of our freedom” in this documentary makes me question everything else they have to say. See more Derik J @MrGoobie Aug 29 Watching overly emotional women who work/worked for the CIA makes me incredibly nervous about the state of our secret service. See more Michael D @RT54178660 Jul 29 It is a strong documentary that benefits from concise episodes, a tight focus on its subject, and excellent graphics that highlight the crucial roles of key figures. While its timeline jumps can be a minor hurdle and the coverage of Guantanamo Bay feels somewhat brief, the series remains an exceptionally well-presented and informative account of the complex, decade-long pursuit of Osama bin Laden. See more Jared K @RT58222491 Jul 28 This was an absolutely fabulous documentary, from the horrific details of 9/11, to the frustration of trying to catch someone hiding in caves and with the help of a society we don't understand, to the amazing details of the final mission. Sad, frustrating and finally exhilarating. And the perspective was a bit different from "Zero Dark Thirty" which made it new and unique even though it was on the same topic. See more Read all reviews
