While The Acolyte is mostly able to skirt by given how well its cast sells the emotional context of each scene, the degree of narrative withholding Headland is attempting here threatens to undermine a lot of this otherwise strong character work.

We got incredible, multi-dimensional characters who made us feel all the emotions and whom we’re going to miss. I can’t remember the last time I fell so instantly in love with new characters. I’m so glad The Acolyte exists and that we got to see it.

This is a good show and I’m tired of pretending it’s not. It sets itself far enough from the Skywalker Saga to feel original and disconnected, which is a good thing. The writing isn’t anything super noteworthy, and I can understand some complaints about everything surrounding the twins, their powers, and conception. Seeing more Jedi content was much needed for me, mostly because a lot of the recent shows are post Jedi Order. I was definitely a fan of Sol and Qimir. Dude, when I say that Qimir rocks, he ROCKS. Manny Jacinto’s performance as was stoic and bold and I need more of him asap. And to those of you who thought this was too "woke" and pushed an "agenda", then that says much more of you as a person than as a fan. Don’t review bomb something just because you hate representation. The Star Wars universe is the biggest universe ever created, so if you see someone that looks different, acts different, or lives different, then just accept that you are close minded and a bigot.

Affected acting choices, and poor writing doomed this one for us--we watched the show all the way through and though there were promising elements to the storyline, the show wasn't able to put them together in a compelling way. Ended up being super cheesy--but not intentionally (bc that can be cool sometimes if intentional lol). Very disappointing.

Absolutely loved it! Only just discovered it! The marketing for this show was terrible and it was at a time when we were being inundated with too many Star Wars shows. Brilliant story totally different take on the force and Jedi, well written, well acted and great cast. What a shame it was cancelled!
