Ward J @antoinewardjr Dec 20 The showrunners and writers are painfully lazy. Season after season, series after series, you’d expect experience to lead to sharper storytelling or at least new logic. Instead, nothing meaningfully evolves. From the original The Walking Dead through every spinoff, it feels like no one applied fresh thinking to this franchise. Take Morgan, for example. After watching Rick repeatedly try—and fail—to save people, only to be rewarded with betrayal and death, you’d expect Morgan to choose a different path. But the writers simply force him to repeat Rick’s mistakes. Every iteration is the same rinse-and-repeat formula. Find shelter. Lose it. Go to war. Spare the antagonist. Try to befriend them. Ignore obvious threats within their ranks. More people die. Still no decisive action. More reasoning, more deaths. Eventually, the antagonist "comes around," only to die anyway—leaving the protagonist stuck restarting the cycle. It’s endlessly repetitive and deeply frustrating to watch. See more Brett L @RT56873063 04/08/2024 Seriously the worst season of any Walking Dead show. EVERTHING, and i mean EVERYTHING about season 5 was bad. The characters and their decisions they made. The unnatural dialogue and constant talk about "Helping People NO MATTER WHAT" and feelings was so stupid. The "Villains of this season sucked and where forced and contrived. Much like everything else this season, things were so forced, contrived, and so easy to come by. I mean honestly, here they were in the state of Texas and everyone was just able to find everyone when they wanted. The constant use of walkie-talkies was ridiculous and so fake it was laughable. And lets us not forget those awful POV episodes and the introduction/death of the most stupid character to ever be on any Walking Dead show...Tom. And then finally, things this season were boring...Like REALLY boring. Anyways, this was just awful TV folks. Such a bad season with bad everything. Thankfully it was watched as a "background" while I work, but still. Not sure what they were thinking but it's basically a parody of it former self now and not taking itself seriously at all. What a waste of the world, IP, and characters/actors. The only redeeming quality is a bit more "word building" insight into the TWD world in general. Can they just stop please I know they did but it should’ve been much earlier. Also I hate the found footage segments there so cheesy and this show’s atmosphere is so dry by this point.
