There's an entire wing of fiction built around such iconoclasts, but "The Other Bennet Sister" and its reimagining of Mary Bennet may be the most attuned to our times. Go to Full Review

Mostly the joy in “The Other Bennet Sister” comes from watching Mary slowly realize that she’s responsible for her own happiness, and that it’s right there waiting for her. Excuse me while I go watch this entire series again; it’s pure pleasure. Go to Full Review

It isn’t always an easy dynamic to watch, especially when things get tense. But in the end it’s a great reminder that the biggest hurdle most moms and daughters face is a simple lack of communication. Go to Full Review

Amid corsets, awkward silences, and social expectations as sharp as knives, *The Other Bennet Sister* rescues a forgotten character and makes her the protagonist of a story that feels surprisingly relatable. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Iva F @IvyForsy 21h It's a great drama overall. For a fan-made story, it managed to capture the spirit and vibe of "Pride and Prejudice". I appreciate that there are some period dramas that aren't afraid to be cozy and funny in these times. See more Kathryn L @RT78716972 2d I love a lot of period drama but this era is not usually something I would be absolutely grabbed by, but I had heard so many great and interesting comments about this show I decided we should give it a go and we loved it! My Mam and I watched it in 2 sittings and we were so impressed by everything about the show. The point of view, so different to what we normally see in this family story was thrilling and interesting. In fact she may have been the 'other' Bennet Sister but she was by far the most interesting of the Sisters. Really looking forward to Season 2 See more Alisa W @Ali2345561 2d If you like period stuff it’s so adorable, easy watch. See more Dana G @DanaFoxy 6d I haven't been as taken with a show for years! Each episode was so fascinating because the acting portrayed so many insights into each character. Love it and now I feel the pang of loss! See more Michelle D @RT42197666 Jun 11 Absolute classic! Lovely score, terrific actors, engaging storyline full of prose and poetry. Doesn’t get bored with oneself or needy for chaos as so many period dramas when stories run dry. It takes its time, allowing one to savor each bite. Shine on Mary Bennet, we see you! See more Caren A @Austenfan1 Jun 10 Had Jane Austen lived just a little longer, I dare to believe she might have written a novel very much like The Other Bennet Sister. The characters, cadence, and subtle references to her beloved works create a story that feels both fresh and comfortingly familiar. By placing Mary Bennet at the center of the narrative and allowing readers to experience events through her perspective, the story offers a delightful and insightful expansion of Pride and Prejudice and its world. As someone who almost always enjoys the novel more than its screen adaptations, I found myself wondering whether this might be the novel Jane Austen never had the opportunity to write. It captures her spirit so convincingly that, at times, it feels less like a continuation and more like a long-lost addition to her literary legacy. See more Read all reviews
