An action-packed thriller where five ballerinas, on their way to a prestigious dance competition, are barely on speaking terms when their bus breaks down in a remote forest. With no other options, they reluctantly seek shelter at an unsettling roadside inn run by Devora Kasimer (Uma Thurman), a reclusive former ballet prodigy. From the moment they arrive, something feels wrong—and their worst instincts prove right. As the situation turns deadly, the fractured team must set aside rivalries and weaponize years of brutal training, turning grace, discipline, and even pointe shoes into tools for survival.

Critics Consensus

Starting off with a fun hook and diluting it with a plethora of clichés, Pretty Lethal doesn't reach its full operatic potential but doles out enough balletic action to remain reasonably en pointe.

While I’m reluctant to credit a film like “Pretty Lethal” with moving this exhausted horror subgenre away from its threadbare formula, it’s a twirl in the right direction. Go to Full Review

Nothing here is to be taken very seriously at all but it is mostly devoid of the suffocating, and often nihilistic, smugness one has come to expect from modern action films. Go to Full Review

Despite the constant mayhem, Pretty Lethal brings little that’s new to the dance floor. Go to Full Review

A stylish, kinetic blend of ballet and brutality that favors movement over depth. Pretty Lethal may be narratively thin, but its inventive choreography and playful tone make it a surprisingly fun action ride. Go to Full Review

The creatively choreographed action is the big winner here. But the characters and story are clunky and mostly uninteresting. It's decidedly a mixed bag that could have been a lot stronger. Go to Full Review

Mostly, it’s just a whimper of a movie that ends in painfully anticlimactic fashion. Its only saving grace is that my daughters got a nice crash course in a so-bad-it’s-sometimes-good-but-still-mostly-bad movie. Go to Full Review

Lets Go T @RT35353682 6h really enjoyed Pretty Lethal. I loved the cast, the story, and the fight choreography. See more Infa R @RT64899951 7h Pretty Lethal is fun and well-acted, with impressive production value and unique fight scenes. See more Mari R @RT30791108 8h The girls were annoying, and the first few fight scenes were decent. That last fight scene was horrific! Horrible choreography, and horrible acting. Ziegler needs to stay off the big screen See more Yash B @yashbansal 23h "Pretty Lethal" has some action scenes that were genuinely a lot of fun. I think the concept of ballerinas being great at fighting is unique and interesting. I just feel the movie has essentially no character development and just jumps right into the main story. I found it hard to get invested in the story because of this, and the stakes were very surface-level. I still think there is some commendable stuff here, and those looking for a violent and entertaining movie may find something here. Overall, it is a movie that has some good qualities, but there isn't enough to go out of my way to recommend it to even genre fans. See more Carter W @RT35456884 1d This was such a fun watch. Recommend for something silly, campy, easy and enjoyable that won't make you think too hard, with a lot of impressively choreographed action scenes. My one and only note is that Bones and Princess didn't kiss at the end. See more Jasmine R. @jaydoll233 1d I thought the movie Pretty Lethal was really good overall. It kept me interested the whole time with its mix of action and drama, and the story felt engaging without dragging. The pacing worked well, and there were plenty of moments that made it exciting to watch. One of the biggest highlights for me was Maddie Ziegler. I think she really excelled in this role and showed a lot of growth as an actress. Her performance felt strong and believable, and she carried her scenes with confidence. It’s clear she’s developing into a serious talent, and this role really helped her stand out. See more Read all reviews
