William B @Bradcom 2d Off to another strong start, with the customary world building and character work. The young characters are good. It’s unfortunate for old favorites to fade away, or die suddenly, it that goes with the territory. See more Tom D @tomd1984 2d I really enjoyed the early seasons of FAM. But it's increasingly become a shadow of its former self... engaging characters and writing are gone. I can’t get over how flat and blah both the acting and story lines are. It’s the least interesting sci-fi show I’ve ever watched. It started strong in season 1 with a good mix of human drama and sci-fi imagination. Now it feels: -low budget -over-invested in exceedingly dull characters -plots that do a terrible (hit em over the head) job with social commentary -an alternate reality that caves in under its own weight -a crotchety main character (Ed) who serves very little purpose, except to embody the dead soul of a failed show -and yes, unbelievably bad old-age makeup. The makeup on Admiral Baldwin (the stiff Joel Kinnaman) is embarrassingly bad - like some kids making a YouTube vid. You can see where the line on his forehead where the hairpiece silicone has been applied. The only awards this will series will win will be Golden Raspberries. See more Jim O @Okie206 6d I have only seen one episode of season 5, I this the writing, acting, and direction far lacks a show that I once loved and recommended to others... They age the characters as if they are in their 90's??? But they do not age the dude that has the bar???? HUH? we started laughing.... Make -p is all off - the lines are cheap and not sharp, there has to be a new group writing this.... I suppose the directors are like 20 or something --- either way they have no idea how aged folks look like with out without cancer. Some of the lines must have been written by a jr copy writer... It was hard to watch but made us laugh!!!! Which was not the intent... Does any one else see this???????
