D L @DaturaDreamer 14h I still love the characters but this season was kind of silly. I think they should stay on the Navajo reservation- the scenery and setting are beautiful. There was a scene with saguaros though which dont grow in that part of the country. Taking it to LA just doesn’t work for me. This season is a little far fetched. Plus they create drama between Chee and Bern about her being chief which is unnecessary drama and Chee acts so immaturely. See more Carol F @RT91801163 2d Dark Winds….what a treat! There is something here for everyone …a romance, cultural depth, great acting by everyone in the cast, a plot that thickens and then thins only to thicken again, a unique and spell binding setting, murders, hirred assasins, deeply engaged married couple, medicine women and the backdrop of meaning making at every stage of life of the characters. Yes, Joe Leaphorn sometimes gets in his own way, and has to be bailed out by those around him. But the story of how he and deputy Jimmy Chee get to the bottom of the bizarre crimes they investigate is always compelling and heartfelt. See more DM Z. @blastoffgirl Mar 8 One of the best shows ever made for streaming - binge watched all 4 seasons (half way through four) like it was quarantine again, somewhat glad I resisted watching because it’s an amazing series to binge! The entire series is perfection, the characters are fascinating and the fact they are Native American and it takes place on the Navajo Reservation is almost secondary (except for the scenery and locations which are stunning) - it’s the story and the characters that draw you in, the beauty of the culture knows no bounds, but it’s Joe Leaphorn that ties it all together, that and the cool 70s vibe. This is a MUCH watch - each season you’ll laugh, cry, feel enraged, it’s truly an American story about life in the 70s, and the crazy characters with intricate stories and off the chart mysteries, crimes, love affairs, tales of revenge etc that Joe and his staff of incredible police officers encounter every day. It’s a community at the cross roads of international crime, mystery, mysticism, and Native American life and traditions that makes this series a real treasure. I just pray there is a Season five!
