This show had a lot of promise, but was really brought down by some woke tropes and bad dialogue and character decisions obviously inserted to make it clear the show aligns with progressive ideology.

Some kind of case study in American dysyopia but its too narrow, bleak, and unbalanced. Fixation on random inconsequential issues like Jamba Juice drinks presumably is statement of some kind. The series doubles and triples down on dysfunctionality and lack of meaning and even the police inhabit the same vibes as the suburban characters. The crime angle is just an excuse for the police to act awkward and surreal like all other characters. No real sign of St Louis anywhere that I can see.

Starts off strong and interesting with presumably great characters…. Then all of a sudden the show just stops progressing the plot and gets bogged down in awkward discussions of weird sex stuff. It goes from hooking to unwatchable so fast… such a shame.

On the edge of my seat and l’m all in! I love how the mundane dialogue is actually crucial evidence. I also love the juxtaposition of boomer and millennial working together to solve a mystery based in Generation X feeling of failing life on all levels.
