Spear’s journey of self-discovery in this new phase is captivating, and you genuinely root for him to remember who he once was and to live a normal life with his family. The increased focus on Mira this season was very necessary. Previously, she often felt restrained and didn’t have many standout moments, but now she becomes a major protagonist and a key part of the story. Fang’s relationship with her offspring is both funny and heartwarming, as we see the small conflicts that come with it. Overall, it’s a strong conclusion to the saga, and if a fourth season happens, I hope it surpasses this one—I’d love to see Spear and Mira’s daughter joining them in new adventures. I have been a fan of his ever since watching my father’s box set of Samurai Jack as a child, followed by my viewing of his explosive and intense take on the Clone Wars series. I strongly feel that Primal may in fact be his magnum opus, as even after the way that season 2 ended so beautifully, he was somehow able to make season 3 equally as gripping and heartstring tugging as the previous seasons, if not more so! Dare I say that this most recent season has left me hungrier for the future of Spear, Fang, Mira, and the newest editions to their family than ever before. I pray that this story is allowed to go on for as long as Tartakovsky has the passion and vision to continue their tale, as I feel that this is one of the most influential and important animated works of this generation.
