In contrast to the ill-conceived political allegory of the first season, season two cleverly realizes its sci-fi post-apocalyptic potential, cleverly expanding on the worldbuilding of a food-dominated world. Go to Full Review

I’m all for Rogen and Goldberg doubling down on their brand of anthropomorphic absurdity. The episodes fly by—they’re fun, laced with biting dark humor that lingers long after the credits roll. Go to Full Review

Sausage Party: Foodtopia remains funny, but it also feels toned down from what we're used to, whether that be on purpose, from overfamiliarity with this world, or the challenge of trying to top itself. Go to Full Review

Ed R @JustcallmeER Nov 9 A much better season than the first! See more Andrew S @RT00594652 Sep 23 Season 2 improves better than the first season from having a small election scenario like The Boys to diving deep into the world-building around food ruling the world from the people behind Nimona and TMNT: Mutant Mayhem! See more X8 2 @Red82 Sep 18 I remember watching a lot of the first season, but upon watching the first episode of season two I got about 10 minutes in, and then the show cut out and Amazon injected an advert with a one and a half minute timer. If I want that garbage I would be watching broadcast TV. Apparently subscribing to Prime is no longer enough, and they want more money, so I ended viewing there and won't return. Back to the high seas if I can ever be bothered to watch again. No idea if the season is good or not, Amazon wouldn't let me get that far without ramming adverts down my throat, probably to pay for the shear amount of garbage like that rings of power no one watches or talks about, ever. From now on anything which has "go ad free" on it isn't even going to get a look from me. If a monthly subscription isn't enough to pay for production, then stop making it as it's not going to get watched See more Gianna N @RT52926349 Sep 10 I personally found it a good watch. Just what you'd expect from watching the first movie. I love the comedy and the movie references, it's creative and relatable to our politics. See more Yasir M @RT70373746 Sep 3 Season 2 is excellent cause it focuses more on the politics and the serious part of the series, really excellent. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Aug 25 Sausage Party: Foodtopia Season Two is, unfortunately, a complete disappointment, failing to capture any of the charm or wit that the original movie, for all its crude humor, managed to pull off. Transitioning from a full-length feature into a series was a gamble that simply didn’t pay off. The season doubles down on shock value and inappropriate gags—sexually explicit food jokes, crude innuendos, and over-the-top vulgarity—without ever bothering to build a coherent storyline or meaningful humor. It feels repetitive, lazy, and completely devoid of creative comedy. Seth Rogen’s voice work, while iconic in his usual animated roles, quickly becomes grating in this series. Playing a hot dog with one-dimensional, vulgar motives, his performance lacks nuance or energy beyond crude delivery. It’s a stark contrast to some of his previous voice roles, like Pumbaa in The Lion King, which showed range and charm. Here, his performance contributes to the monotony rather than elevating the show, making the entire cast feel underutilized and flat. The writing, or lack thereof, is the most glaring flaw. Season Two’s screenplay seems to exist purely to shock, with little thought to pacing, character development, or comedic timing. Episodes drag without progression, and the constant reliance on lowbrow humor quickly wears thin. Without any inventive storytelling or clever satire, the season feels like a chaotic collection of tasteless jokes rather than a proper continuation of the Sausage Party universe. It’s especially disappointing because the first season had at least a sense of novelty. Even if crude, there was some amusement in seeing food-related satire pushed to absurd extremes. Season Two abandons any subtlety or originality, leaving the audience with little more than repetitive sexual gags and overused shock humor. The humor becomes predictable and boring almost immediately. Visually, the animation is adequate but uninspired. It has the same bright, exaggerated style as the movie, yet without a strong narrative or engaging characters, the animation alone cannot carry the series. The show ends up feeling hollow—technically competent but creatively empty. Ultimately, Sausage Party: Foodtopia Season Two is a misfire that proves the series should have remained a one-off movie. Its reliance on crude jokes without substance, weak writing, and underwhelming performances make it hard to recommend. Fans of the original film’s chaotic charm will likely be frustrated, and newcomers will find it unfunny and tedious. It’s a season that overestimates shock value and underdelivers on actual comedy.
